Hubba Hubba. Wow so much alteration. The chocolate chip cookie. I think this was the first thing I ever baked, and probably forced my family to eat. Even though it seems like the easiest thing to make, these cookies can look and taste completely different with just a few tweaks to the recipe. I usually bake with white caster sugar, but after I recently read that brown sugar makes cookies chewier (which I prefer) and white sugar makes them slightly crisp, I thought what the heck, let's have a go! If you like your cookies with a bit of a snap, check out my peanut butter cookies here: http://bit.ly/1tWec9r Preheat Oven: 180 degrees
Cream together the butter, sugar, salt and baking powder Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Then slowly add the flour, a little at a time until completely smooth. Add the scrumptious choccy chips, munching on a few as you go obviously. Spoon a little scoop of the mixture onto a greased baking tray. Make sure to leave some space between each scoop. Bake for 15 minutes. Maybe have a peek after 10 or so minutes. I like to take mine out when they're still a wee bit gooey in the middle. The cookie monster would approve.
