Served up with vodka salsa, mint yoghurt, salad and wholemeal pitas. If you're not in the mood for dark meat and you're bored of chicken, Turkey is a great substitute. It's lean, rich in protein and apparently makes quite good burgers! Burgers
Vodka Salsa
Mint Yoghurt
To begin, finely chop the parsley, chillies, garlic and onion. Chuck in a mixing bowl, add the spices, salt and pepper. Then add in the Turkey mince and mix it all together. Grab a handful of Twerky goodness and roll into a ball between your palms. Then flatten into patty shapes. Put your twerky burgers in the fridge until you're ready to cook. Now for the vodka salsa. In a bowl add the chopped tomatoes, spices, salt, pepper, diced onions, garlic and chillies. Add the vodka and lemon juice. Stir, taste, add more if needed. It should be hot hot hot and have a real good kick in order to offset and counterbalance with the yoghurt. For the mint yoghurt, chop your mint leaves as finely as possible. Add to the yoghurt with a pinch of salt. When you're ready, heat your frying pan to a high temperature and splash in a glug of oil. Place your patties into the pan to cook for 20-25 minutes. They need to be cooked all the way through. Make sure to give em' a good flippin'. Cut one open to check they're cooked all the way through and hot in the middle. Then serve up! I shredded the burger for eating ease. Healthy, easy to make and bursting with flavour.
